Description
Buchu is a small evergreen shrub with small white, star-like flowers and brown fruits. Like citrus it belongs to the Rutaceae family and is native to South Africa. The oil is extracted by steam distillation from its fragrant and small ,1cm-long leaves. This shrub can grow up to 6 ft high and bears small white, star-like flowers. It is known as a traditional insect repellent due to its sharp scent.
